Experienced Medical Crews
Each mission is staffed with an experienced medical team. AEROMEDICAL follows international guidelines for the composition of medical crews. The crews consist of specially trained physicians, nurses and paramedics, all of them are fully accredited according to MSPAS.
Our crews go under selection and training that includes:
- certified specialist with additional intensive care training
- routine management of intensive care patient as an integral part of own ongoing
- experience in a physician staffed emergency medical system
- knowledge of the fundamentals of flight physiology and patho-physiology
- participation in a special introductory course and flight training
- regular participation to in-house continuing medical education program
On board treatment strictly adheres to valid international standards, and it is coordinated with the physicians in charge of medical decisions on the clients behalf, as well as with the hospitals and clinics involved at both ends of the transfer. Prior to each air ambulance transfer, a medical briefing is obtained from the medical facility at which the patient is being cared for. With this briefing, the medical staff will receive all the doctor's orders and maintain them throughout the transfer. This will determine the right staff, specific medical equipment, medicines and any other medical supplies required. Each patient will receive the best care available for a safe and comfortable flight.
If the patient requires more specialised care (e.g. a newborn baby), neonatologists and other specialists are also available.
ONBOARD INTENSIVE CARE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
We have state of the art intensive care medical equipment onboard our aircrafts.
Depending on the level of care needed we will provide:
- Gas powered ventilator
- Long range and transport oxygen bottles
- Intubation and advanced airway management equipment
- Portable suction units
- Defibrillator
- Cardiac and vital signs monitor
- IV Infusion Pumps
- Pressure infusers
- 12 leads ECG
- Drug box
- ALS/ACLS drugs and supplies
- Medical supplies.
- Stretchers and immobilization devices.
- Electrical Inverter (12V-110/240V)
Any other necessary equipment will be provided if needed.
